About FESCO — Faisalabad Electric Supply Company
Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) supplies electricity to over 5.6 million consumers across eight districts of Punjab: Faisalabad, Sargodha, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Bhakkar, Khushab, Mianwali, and Chiniot. Established in 1997, FESCO serves Pakistan's third-largest city and the country's undisputed textile capital — Faisalabad — which hosts hundreds of textile mills, power looms, and garment factories that collectively drive a significant portion of Pakistan's export economy.
FESCO's territory is an economic engine. Faisalabad city alone has more than 400 textile factories and thousands of power looms. The industrial electricity demand from this sector makes FESCO one of Pakistan's highest-revenue DISCOs. Beyond Faisalabad, FESCO covers Sargodha (Pakistan's citrus capital), Jhang (the City of Saints), Toba Tek Singh, Mianwali, Chiniot (Pakistan's furniture capital), and Khushab.
To check your FESCO bill online, enter your 14-digit FESCO reference number in the bill checker above. Your reference number is printed at the top of every FESCO electricity bill. You can also use your 10-digit Customer ID (click Customer ID tab). For SMS-based bill checking, send pitc [14-digit reference number] to 8334 for your bill amount and due date.
FESCO operates under NEPRA's national tariff. Domestic consumers averaging 200 units or less per month qualify as Protected and receive subsidized rates starting from Rs 13.48/unit. Higher consumers are classified as Unprotected with rates reaching Rs 48.84/unit for 700+ unit consumers. FESCO bills are typically available online by the 20th to 25th of each month.

How to Read Your FESCO Bill
Every section of your FESCO electricity bill has a specific meaning. Understanding these sections helps you verify accuracy and dispute errors.
Your FESCO reference number is permanent — save it in your phone. You need it every month to check your bill without searching for a paper copy.
The Category on your FESCO bill determines your rate. D-Protected means subsidized rates for low consumers. D-Unprotected means full slab rates. Industrial consumers see I-1, I-2, or C-1 for commercial.
Faisalabad textile consumers with industrial connections should monitor Maximum Demand (MD) charges. MD penalties apply when actual peak demand exceeds your sanctioned load — a common cause of high industrial FESCO bills.
If your bill says Estimated instead of Actual, FESCO's meter reader did not visit your premises. Request an actual reading by calling 118 — estimated bills often cause large catch-up charges the following month.
Review your bill's Arrears line. If you see arrears you believe you paid, bring your payment receipts to your nearest FESCO sub-division office for manual clearance.
The FPA (Fuel Price Adjustment) charge varies every month. In winter it is typically higher because expensive thermal plants compensate for reduced hydro generation.
FESCO Bill Charges Explained March 2026
Your FESCO electricity bill includes several charges beyond the base unit rate. Here is what each charge means and how it is calculated.
| Charge | Amount / Rate | What It Is |
|---|---|---|
| Energy Charges | Rs 13.48 – Rs 48.84/unit | Base charge per kWh unit consumed. Rate depends on your slab (Protected or Unprotected). |
| Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA) | Rs 0.48/unit (Mar 2026) | Monthly variable charge set by NEPRA based on fuel cost changes. Rises when fuel is expensive. |
| General Sales Tax (GST) | 17% of consumption charges | Federal government tax applied to your electricity charges. Protected consumers under 200 units pay reduced GST. |
| FC (Fixed Charge) Surcharge | Rs 0.43/unit | Funds capacity payments to power plants. Applied to all consumers regardless of category. |
| Electricity Duty (ED) | 1.5% of consumption charges | Provincial government duty on electricity consumption. Applies to all domestic connections. |
| NJ (Neelum Jhelum) Surcharge | Rs 0.10/unit | Funds the Neelum-Jhelum Hydro Power Project debt repayment. Applies per unit consumed. |
| TV License Fee | Rs 35/month | Government fee added to all domestic bills. Mandatory regardless of whether you own a TV. |
| Meter Rent | Rs 10–1,000+/month | Monthly rental for the electricity meter at your premises. Amount varies by meter type and connection category. |
| Late Payment Surcharge | 10% of overdue amount | Applied if you pay after the due date + 7-day grace period. Avoid this by paying on time. |
| PTV Fee | Included in TV Fee | Pakistan Television fee collected through electricity bills. Part of the Rs 35 TV License charge. |
FESCO Electricity Tariff Rates March 2026
Pakistan uses a slab-based tariff. The more units you consume, the higher the rate per unit. Staying in a lower slab saves significant money every month.
Rates approved by NEPRA. Subject to change each quarter. Last updated: March 2026.
| Units Consumed | Rate per Unit (PKR) | Consumer Category |
|---|---|---|
| 1 – 100 units | Rs 13.48 | Protected |
| 101 – 200 units | Rs 18.58 | Protected |
| 1 – 100 units | Rs 23.59 | Unprotected |
| 101 – 200 units | Rs 30.07 | Unprotected |
| 201 – 300 units | Rs 34.26 | Unprotected |
| 301 – 400 units | Rs 39.15 | Unprotected |
| 401 – 500 units | Rs 41.36 | Unprotected |
| 501 – 600 units | Rs 42.78 | Unprotected |
| 601 – 700 units | Rs 43.92 | Unprotected |
| Above 700 units | Rs 48.84 | Unprotected |
✅ Protected Consumer
Average monthly consumption of 200 units or less over the last 6 months. Pays subsidized rates. One high-consumption month does not immediately remove Protected status.
⚡ Unprotected Consumer
Average consumption exceeds 200 units per month. Pays commercial rates from the very first unit consumed. Reducing average consumption below 200 units can restore Protected status.
FESCO Peak Hours 2026
Electricity costs more during peak hours. Moving heavy appliance use outside peak hours reduces your monthly FESCO bill noticeably.
Summer Peak Hours
April — October
6:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Avoid AC, washing machine, electric iron during these hours.
Winter Peak Hours
November — March
6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Avoid electric heaters, geysers, and irons during these hours.
Off-Peak Hours (Save Money)
How to Reduce Your FESCO Bill
These practical steps consistently reduce electricity bills for Faisalabad households. Implementing all of them can cut your monthly bill by 20 to 40%.
Faisalabad textile factory owners: shift power loom and production operations to off-peak hours (before 6:30 PM and after 10:30 PM) to reduce demand charges and per-unit costs significantly.
Residential consumers in Faisalabad: Chiniot, Jhang, and Sargodha have milder climates than Lahore — use fans for the maximum possible months before turning on AC to stay under the 200-unit Protected threshold.
Sargodha citrus orchard owners using electric tube wells should install timers to run pumps at night (off-peak). This reduces both FESCO peak-hour charges and extends pump motor life.
FESCO net metering is available for solar panel owners. Apply at fesco.com.pk or at your nearest FESCO division office. Faisalabad's annual solar irradiance is excellent — rooftop solar can offset 70–80% of textile factory electricity consumption.
Replace fluorescent lighting in your factory or home with LED lighting. A Faisalabad power loom workshop replacing 50 tube lights (40W each) with LEDs (18W each) saves approximately 660 units per 10-hour shift — Rs 25,000+ per month at industrial rates.
Set AC units in your home or office to 26°C. In Faisalabad's extreme summer heat, ACs running at 20°C instead of 26°C can add 200–300 extra units to your monthly bill.
