About SSGC — Sui Southern Gas Company
Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) is Pakistan's second-largest gas utility, supplying gas to over 3.5 million consumers across Karachi, Sindh, and Balochistan. Incorporated in 1954 — the same year the famous Sui gas field in Balochistan was discovered — SSGC was the first company to harness Pakistan's natural gas for domestic and industrial use. The Sui gas field, located in Dera Bugti district, initially powered Karachi and remained Pakistan's primary gas source for decades.
SSGC's service area includes: all of Karachi (Pakistan's largest city and commercial capital), Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, and all major Sindh cities; and in Balochistan — Quetta, Hub, Turbat, Khuzdar, and all cities with pipeline access. SSGC also supplies major industrial areas including SITE Industrial Area, Korangi Industrial Area, and Landhi Industrial Area — Karachi's three major manufacturing zones.
SSGC operates the eBill service (email + SMS bill delivery) and the SSGC Connect app for digital bill management. Gas regulation in Pakistan is handled by OGRA (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority), which sets SSGC's tariffs and handles consumer escalations at 0800-66256.

How to Read Your SSGC Gas Bill
Consumer Number (10 digits)
Your permanent 10-digit SSGC ID. Different from SNGPL's 11 digits. Used for all bill checking, payment apps, and customer service.
Meter Readings (HCFT)
Gas consumption is measured in HCFT (Hundred Cubic Feet). Current minus Previous reading equals your monthly consumption.
Billing Quantity (MMBTU)
SSGC converts HCFT to MMBTU for billing. 1 MMBTU ≈ 10.03 HCFT. All tariff charges are per MMBTU.
Protected / Unprotected Status
Protected (≤0.5 HCFT/day average) consumers pay the subsidized rate. Unprotected consumers pay up to 4-5x more. This is the most critical field on your bill.
Gas Charges
Consumption (MMBTU) × tariff rate for your category.
GIDC (Gas Infrastructure Development Cess)
A government levy per MMBTU to fund gas infrastructure expansion.
GST (17%)
General Sales Tax on gas charges.
Due Date
Pay before this date to avoid 10% late payment surcharge. SSGC grace period is 7 days after due date.
