About K-Electric
K-Electric (KE) is Pakistan's only privately owned electricity distribution company. Formerly known as Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC), it was privatized in 2005 and rebranded as K-Electric. KE generates, transmits, and distributes electricity to over 3.3 million consumers across Karachi — Pakistan's largest city and commercial capital — plus surrounding areas including Dhabeji, Gharo, Hub, and parts of Lasbela district in Balochistan.
Unlike all other DISCOs in Pakistan which are government-owned and managed through PITC, K-Electric operates its own independent billing system. This is why KE bills use a 13-digit account number instead of the 14-digit reference number used by WAPDA DISCOs.
K-Electric introduced a new bill format in August 2025 that simplified layout, added a message board section for consumer-specific updates, and improved tariff transparency on the bill face.

Frequently Asked Questions — K-Electric Bill
How do I check my K-Electric bill online?
Visit ke.com.pk and click Duplicate Bill. Enter your 13-digit K-Electric account number — found on the top of your bill. Your bill appears with amount, due date, and consumption details. You can also check via WhatsApp (Hi to 0348-0000118), SMS (account number to 8119), or the KE Live app on Android and iOS.
What is the K-Electric account number?
Your K-Electric account number is a 13-digit number printed at the top of your electricity bill, usually labeled 'Account No.' or 'Consumer No.' This is different from WAPDA DISCO reference numbers which have 14 digits. If you have lost your bill, call KE helpline 021-99000 with your CNIC to retrieve it.
What is K-Electric's WhatsApp bill service?
Save 0348-0000118 on WhatsApp and send Hi. The KE chatbot gives you a menu — select Duplicate Bill, enter your 13-digit account number, and receive your latest bill instantly. The WhatsApp service also lets you check load shedding schedules, report outages, request income tax certificates, and apply for new connections.
What is K-Electric's grace period for bill payment?
K-Electric gives consumers only 3 days after the due date to pay without a late payment surcharge — unlike other WAPDA DISCOs which give 7 days. After the 3-day grace period, a 10% late payment surcharge applies to the unpaid amount. Pay on or before your due date to avoid extra charges.
How do I pay my K-Electric bill online?
Pay through JazzCash, Easypaisa, HBL, MCB, Meezan, UBL, or any bank app. Go to Bill Payments, select K-Electric or KE, enter your 13-digit account number, and confirm. You can also pay using KE's RAAST ID for instant bank-to-bank transfer, or scan the QR code printed on your KE bill.
How do I check K-Electric load shedding schedule for my area?
Send Hi to KE WhatsApp 0348-0000118 and select Load Shedding Schedule. You can also check ke.com.pk → Services → Load Management. KE publishes feeder-wise schedules online and updates them regularly. Urban areas in Karachi typically experience 4 to 6 hours of load shedding, while Lasbela areas may have longer durations.
What is KE Live app and how do I use it?
KE Live is K-Electric's official mobile app available on Android (Google Play) and iOS (App Store). After registering with your 13-digit account number and CNIC, you can view bills, pay online, submit complaints, check outage status, request a duplicate bill, and track new connection applications — all in one app.
What changed in K-Electric's new bill format in August 2025?
K-Electric redesigned its bill format in August 2025 to improve readability. Key changes: a cleaner layout with clearly labeled charge sections, a new Message Board section for consumer-specific updates from KE, improved Fuel Charge Adjustment (FCA) transparency, and NEPRA directive summaries printed directly on the bill.
How do I apply for K-Electric net metering for solar panels?
Apply at ke.com.pk → Services → Net Metering, or visit any KE Customer Care Center. You need a NEPRA-licensed solar installer, technical drawings, and load details. KE installs a bi-directional meter — units you export to the grid offset your bill. Net metering has reduced many Karachi household bills to zero or near-zero.
Does K-Electric cover Lasbela in Balochistan?
Yes. K-Electric supplies electricity to Lasbela district including Hub city, Uthal, and surrounding areas, even though Lasbela is geographically in Balochistan. All other Balochistan districts receive electricity from QESCO. If you live in Hub or Lasbela, your electricity bill comes from K-Electric, not QESCO — use your 13-digit KE account number to check it.
